What’s Up, Chicken Butt?

I awoke to a great view of Mt. Baker from my side of the bed, but the sky clouded over and it has been raining for a few hours. We moved the chickens to a new 8×8′ pen in the garage since two had flown out of their little bed in the laundry room already, the little buggers.

Yesterday I took lots of photos of their sweet emerging tail feathers. Adorable chicken butts! One little ameraucana girl has a cross on her back, which to me resembles the ash crosses some receive on foreheads on Ash Wednesday. She is destined to be named “Ashley.” 🙂
